Third Training Session on Raising & Building the Capacities of the Sudanese RSF



On the 26th of September, the Geneva Institute for Human Rights, in close collaboration with the Ginaid Foundation for Peace and Development carried out the third training session focused on building the capacities of the Sudanese Rapid Support Forces in the field of Human Rights.


The third session aspires to continue the diligent work of the Institute in strengthening the respect and enforcement of humanitarian laws and fundamental freedoms through effective capacity building, subsequently contributing to the elimination of systematic violations in all its manifestations.


In acknowledgement of the crucial linkage between peace and security and the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms, the training course targeted pertinent human rights issues and topics, particularly in the context of the RSF, such as :


  • Role of the Rapid Support Forces during a state of emergency;

  • RSF and Gender Approach;

  • Gender Based Violence;

  • Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace & Security, and it’s Complementary Resolutions & the Sudanese National Action Plan for the implementation of the Security Council Resolution 1325

  • The role of the RSF in the implementation of the Sudanese National Action Plan and the Security Council Resolution 1325

  • Women, Armed Conflict and the Framework Agreement between Sudan and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Sexual Violence in Conflict

  • Women and the Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 16
