Jobs & Internships
Currently, there are no job vacancies at the Geneva Institute for Human Rights.
Internship applications at GIHR are accepted throughout the year.
Candidates are requested to provide the Institute with a letter of recommendation from a University, academic foundation or a well-known institution in the area of Human Rights or related area. Please note that a small stipend will be given to the intern. However, Geneva Institute for Human Rights has no provision to cater for other reimbursements such as living expenses or accommodation costs.
These fall on the responsibility of the intern. Furthermore, GIHR accepts no responsibility for costs that may arise due to accidents or illness during the time of the internship. Thus, interns will have to provide proof of their enrolment in a health insurance scheme, and a document showing eligibility to work in Switzerland.
Applicants for the Internship Programme at the GIHR should have an excellent knowledge of French, English or the Arabic language and be available for a period of three to six months. Applicants should be well-organised, self-motivated and reliable and should display a strong interest in international human rights or any relevant fields. Relevant coursework is highly desirable and knowledge of Arabic languages is a plus. Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office, Internet applications) are required.
Please apply by emailing your CV, a letter of motivation, and a letter of reference to the Geneva Institute for Human rights: firstname.lastname@example.org.
GIHR is supported by the work of a number of long and short term volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for the Institute, we would appreciate it if you email your request to: email@example.com (with the subject “Volunteering”).
Thank you very much for your interest!
