Launch of the advanced training course on mechanisms for the international protection of women's rights.
Professor Nazar Abdelgadir, Executive Director of the Geneva Institute for Human Rights, and Professor Mohamed Nissour, Head of the Middle East and North Africa Division of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, opened , the work of the advanced training course on international protection mechanisms for women's rights organized by the Institute at its headquarters. The course began on the margins of the work of the 82nd session of the CEDAW Committee and the discussion of the reports of the Kingdom of Morocco and the United Arab Emirates between 19 and 23 June 2022, with the participation of people from various countries from the MENA region.
The advanced training course comes after a more than two-year interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions imposed by the Swiss authorities and in continuation of the Institute's work in raising awareness and defending human rights, citizenship and benevolent human values for the achievement of abuses-free societies where everyone can fully enjoy and exercice their rights, as well as raise awareness of a human rights and fundamental freedoms culture and promote democratic participation.
