  • Promoting Security Council Resolution 1325 in Sudan. GIHR is currently working closely with the Ministry of Labour and Social Development to ensure the implementation of the National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security.

    • The project aims to raise the awareness and knowledge of both women, men and youth on how to utilise UNSCR1325 and to promote  and advocate for it. 

    • The project would ultimately work towards realising a number of Sustainable Development Goals such as women equality, as it is a crucial element for a sustainable future.

  • GIHR organized online symposium on the future of United Nations forces in Sudan

​

  • GIHR organized online symposium on Sudan and the International Criminal Court (ICC)

​

  • GIHR’s launched first online training session and project on “Promoting Active Participation of Women”, in collaboration with AMAN (Protection and Social Rehabilitation Centre - Qatar).

    • This project's objective is to encourage a thriving culture of women’s human rights, to promote and enable the effective participation of women and strengthen their presence in discussions, with a special focus on cases of gender based violence.

  • GIHR participated in :

    • Roundtable Meeting on the Exploitation of Children and Women in Waste Picking in Mayo Area, Jabal Awliya,
      organized by NADA  Elazhar  Organization  for  Disaster  Prevention and Sustainable Development
      (NADA), PLAN  International  in  collaboration  and  coordination with the National  Council  for  Child
       Welfare (NCCW), (Khartoum - Sudan). 

    • International Conference in Doha on “Social Media: Challenges and Ways to Promote Freedoms and
      Protect Activists”
      (Doha - Qatar).

  • GIHR released various statements throughout the year, spreading awareness on issues of concern and acknowledging the impact of covid-19 on these matters, such as  : 

    • GIHR Statement on the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (21 March)

    • GIHR Statement on the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (6 April)

    • GIHR Statement on the Day of Remembrance for all Victims of Chemical Warfare (30 April)

    • GIHR Statement on the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression (4 June)
