  • Training on "The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD)"; Review of Iraq and Kuwait

  • GIHR Training Course on the UN Human Rights Protection Mechanisms: “The Universal Periodic Review (UPR)” Review of Egypt and Iraq

  • Training for CSOs on Human Rights, particularly on the International Human Rights System and Sudan.

  • GIHR organised various Workshops:

    • The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Mechanism organized by the Doha – Qatar from Geneva Institute for Human Rights (GIHR) in collaboration with the UN Human Rights Training and Documentation Centre for South- West Asia and the Arab Region and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Qatar

    • Curb sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in Sudan; Launching of Sudan database of SGBV legal resources (Court Judgments and Laws); Organized by The Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa (IHRDA) in partnership with Darfur Bar Association (DBA) and with funding from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP)

    • Security Council Resolution 1325 Women, Peace and Security workshop between reality and hope, co organized with the Sudanese ministry of Labour and Social Development; Funded by the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan.

  • GIHR participated in : 

    • 40th Regular Session of the UN Human Rights Council​

    • International Conference on National, regional and international mechanisms to combat impunity and ensure
      accountability under international law;       organized by the National Human Rights Committee in Qatar (NHRC) in cooperation with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and the European Parliament, and the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions (GANHRI)
