A concerted and united effort fueled by passion, innovation and empathy is necessary to build a world that is better for all. Within that context, international cooperation is vital in fostering innovative technologies, market access and fair trade, as well as enhancing the capacity to address economic and environmental crises, particularly for developing countries.
Unfortunately, the covid-19 pandemic has further exacerbated existing challenges related to global partnerships, including : scarcity of financial resources, technological obstacles and trade tensions.
The fiscal impact of the pandemic has resulted in debt distress in various regions, significantly limiting their fiscal capacity for recovery investments, including accessing vaccines.
The 19 target goals set forth to create action in regards to partnership for sustainable development, are as follows:
Mobilize resources to improve domestic revenue collection
Implement all development assistance commitments
Mobilize financial resources for developing countries
Assist developing countries in attaining debt sustainability
Invest in least developed countries
Knowledge sharing and cooperation for access to science, technology and innovation
Promote sustainable technologies to developing countries
Strengthen the science, technology and innovation capacity for least developed countries
Enhance sdg capacity in developing countries
Promote a universal trading system under the wto
Increase the exports of developing countries
Remove trade barriers for least developed countries
Enhance global macroeconomic stability
Enhance policy coherence for sustainable development
Respect national leadership to implement policies for the sustainable development goals
Enhance the global partnership for sustainable development
Encourage effective partnerships
Enhance availability of reliable data
Further develop measurements of progress
