Promoting UN Resolution 1325 (Women, Peace & Security) in Sudan

16th February

On the 16th of February, GIHR co-organized various National Plan Workshops for the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 across Sudan, with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum and with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan.

Four National Plan Workshop was organized for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of the White Nile State, 5 National Plan Workshop for the people of Kassala & Al Qadarif States and finally a National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of South & East Darfur States.

17th February

With the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan, a National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of Red Sea state was co-organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum.

Dalang – Sudan

With the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan, a National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of South and West

Kordofan States was co-organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum.

20 February

With the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan, a National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of Al Jazirah State was co-organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum. On this day as well, GIHR released a Statement on the World Day of Social Justice, reaffirming the importance of social justice in ensuring a peaceful and prosperous coexistence. Based on its mission to ensure and promote gender equality and human rights in general, GIHR stresses on the necessity in removing any barriers resulting of discrimination in regards to gender, race, ethnicity, religion or disability, to eliminate social injustice and ensure social development.

10 National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of West and Central Darfur States, co organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum and with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan.

11 National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of the Northern State, was co organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum and with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan

A National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 for the people of the River Nile State and 13 National Plan Workshop for the Implementation of Security Council Resolution 1325 was also organized for the people of the Khartoum State, was co-organized with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Institute for Research and Development Studies at the University of Khartoum, with the support of the Norwegian Embassy in Sudan.
